Nacida en Madrid en 1964, realicé mis estudios universitarios de Ciencias Químicas en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, donde elegí la entonces especialidad de Química Industrial.
Mi primer trabajo, en 1989, fue para la empresa de ingeniería y construcción de refinerías y plantas petroquímicas Badger B.V., sita en La Haya, Holanda, como ingeniero de procesos. Mi intención en aquel entonces era, además de adquirir experiencia en un campo que me interesaba, mejorar mi nivel de inglés trabajando en una filial de una empresa americana.

biography
Born in Madrid in 1964, I attended the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, following Chemistry studies, where I chose the Industrial Chemistry branch.
My first job, in 1989, was as a process engineer for the engineering company Badger B.V., specializing in the field of refinery and petrochemical plant design and construction, which is located in The Hague, The Netherlands. My intention then was not only to acquire experience in a field of my interest, such as process engineering, but also to improve my English while working for an American company like Badger.

Tras regresar a España en el año 1990, he trabajado desde entonces en distintas empresas españolas dentro del mismo ramo en el que me inicié, acumulando hasta el momento 15 años de experiencia en la ingeniería de procesos para refinerías, petroquímica, gas natural y cogeneración. Especialmente en el marco de mi último trabajo, hasta 2006, en Foster Wheeler Iberia, he tenido repetida ocasión de emplear mis habilidades lingüísticas en traducciones de textos técnicos de diversa índole: medioambiental, especificaciones de equipos, manuales de operación de plantas, etc. Tengo por tanto una gran experiencia en el lenguaje ingenieril de este ramo. Quizá debido a este contacto profesional continuo con el idioma inglés acabé por cogerle el gustillo y decidí ampliar mi campo profesional, dedicándome a la traducción técnica.

Ever since returning to Spain in 1990, I have worked for several Spanish companies in the same work area where I started, reaching 15 years of experience in process engineering for refineries, petrochemical plants, natural gas and cogeneration. More specifically in my last job, for FOSTER WHEELER IBERIA S.A., I have repeatedly used my language capabilities in technical translations of various subject texts: environmental, equipment specifications, plant operating manuals, and so on. I have therefore a wide expertise in the process engineering language. Perhaps due to this continuous professional contact with the English language I have been driven to like translating. That is why I have decided to broaden my professional horizons and become a technical translator.
